Former world champion cyclist Rohan Dennis has been charged over his wife’s death.
Melissa Hoskins – a retired professional cyclist – died from injuries in hospital after allegedly being struck by a ute on Saturday night in Medindie.
Paramedics were called to the scene after witnesses reported she had been hit by a car.
Dennis has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving without due care and endangering life.
Hoskins – a mother of two – was 32 years of age.
Dennis, 33, is a dual world champion and retired from his cycling career this year.
He has been bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on March 13.
