Diogo Jota rescued Liverpool as the Premier League leaders recovered from Andy Robertson’s early red card to snatch, while Arsenal’s title challenge was dented by a goalless stalemate and chaos ensued after another disappointing loss for Wolves.

Plus, is this the save of the year?

All that and more in the latest Premier League wrap!

UGLY POST-GAME SCENES AS WOLVES LOSE THRILLER

Starting with Wolves, Rayan Ait-Nouri has to be ushered down the tunnel as a stoppage-time goal secured a 2-1 win for Ipswich Town and heaped even more pressure on boss Gary O’Neil.

Kieran McKenna’s team went ahead through Matt Doherty’s 15th minute own goal. Just as Wolves fans were calling for owners Fosun to sell the club, Matheus Cunha grabbed a 72nd minute equaliser.

But Taylor headed home from a 94th minute corner to seal Ipswich’s second league win since their promotion to the top tier.

Third-bottom Ipswich are just one point adrift of safety, while second-bottom Wolves are three points behind them after an 11th loss in 16 league games piled further pressure on O’Neil.

Making matters worse, Ait-Nouri had to be dragged away teammate Craig Dawson after appearing to take exception to something from the Ipswich bench, although the source of his frustration is unclear at this stage.

‘MIRACULOUS’ SAVE IS ‘AS GOOD AS YOU WILL SEE’ FOR VILLA

In other news, Nottingham Forest climbed to fourth place after staging a dramatic late fightback to beat Aston Villa 2-1 at the City Ground.

Jhon Duran put sixth-placed Villa in front with a powerful header from John McGinn’s 63rd minute cross.

But Forest levelled with three minutes left when Nikola Milenkovic’s header crept past Emiliano Martinez’s weak attempted save.

And Anthony Elanga’s composed close-range finish in stoppage-time sealed Forest’s third victory in their last four games.

The biggest story out of the game though was Martinez’s stunning, behind-the-back save on a header by Forest’s Nicolas Dominguez.

Sky Sports’ Alan Smith described it as an “amazing stop” while the BBC’s official X account asked whether it was “one of the all-time great saves”.

“It’s miraculous,” Smith said.

“The ball has come at him so quickly. It is sheer reactions. It’s a good as you will see this season. Spectacular.”

“I can’t think of a better Premier League save,” added Jamie Redknapp.

“It’s almost like a magician with his sleight of hand.”

TEN-MAN LIVERPOOL SALVAGE DRAW

Diogo Jota rescued a point for Premier League leaders Liverpool against Fulham as the home side twice fought back with 10 men to salvage a 2-2 draw at Anfield.

But the dropped points — for the second game in a row — mean Chelsea can close the gap at the top of the table to just two points if they beat Brentford at home.

Andreas Pereira put the visitors ahead in the 11th minute and six minutes later Liverpool were reduced to 10 men when defender Andy Robertson was sent off.

But Arne Slot’s men came out strongly after half-time and were level in the 47th minute when Cody Gakpo headed home Mohamed Salah’s inswinging cross.

Rodrigo Muniz appeared to have won the game for Fulham in the 76th minute but the returning Jota, playing his first match since October, levelled 10 minutes later.

Former Manchester United midfielder Pereira scored the first goal of the game at the Kop end, meeting Antonee Robinson’s cross on the stretch to beat goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Robertson had been culpable for the opener and his attempt to recover from a poor touch succeeded only in bringing down Harry Wilson, which referee Tony Harrington deemed to be a denial of a goalscoring opportunity.

Ref Coote sacked for Liverpool tirade | 00:45

Liverpool failed to get back on level terms in the first half despite their bold approach but two minutes into the second period they were level when Salah cut in from the right and curled a cross to the far post where Gakpo scored his seventh goal in 10 matches.

Salah drove wide in a four-on-two attack and that miss looked pivotal when substitute Muniz deflected in Robinson’s cross 14 minutes from time.

But after Harvey Elliott and Darwin Nunez had both sent efforts wide, Jota proved his long injury lay-off had dulled none of his predatory instincts by sending Bernd Leno the wrong way from the middle of the penalty area.

Becker’s save from Adama Traore protected the point and with Everton doing their neighbours a favour by drawing at Arsenal, Liverpool stretched their lead at the top over second-placed Chelsea to five points.

But Enzo Maresca’s in-form team can cut that lead to two points if they beat Brentford at Stamford Bridge.

‘UNBELIEVABLE’ ARSENAL CAN’T BREAK THROUGH EVERTON

Elsewhere, Arsenal failed to take advantage of Liverpool’s rare stumble as the Gunners were kept at bay on a frustrating afternoon at the Emirates Stadium in a goalless stalemate against Everton.

The north Londoners have become a force from set-pieces, scoring 23 goals from corners since the start of last season.

But their lack of firepower outside of that route has been questioned this season and once again they were hampered by a failure to turn pressure and possession into goals.

After a second successive league draw, third-placed Arsenal remain six points behind Liverpool, who have a game in hand on last season’s runners-up.

“We fully deserved to win the game,” Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said.

“It’s Frustrating, especially when we concede zero chances and dominate the game so much.”

Arsenal enjoyed 76 percent of possession and a total of 13 shots, but could not find the breakthrough against an Everton side that defended resolutely and had only two shots in the entire game.

Are expectations too high for Ange? | 01:15

“We’re very disappointed not to win the game because if there was a team obviously that deserved to win it that was Arsenal,” added Arteta.

“We did everything that was necessary overall apart from the fact that we didn’t score a goal. We conceded absolutely nothing, dominated all the direct play, didn’t allow them to run and conceded no set pieces.

“But we go there in so many occasions, we created three or four big chances, didn’t score from there… at the end you want to be rewarded for what you’ve done and the difficulty is that we haven’t tonight.

“It’s all the moments that we need to have a little more composure and more quality in those moments, that’s normal. That’s it.

“Tracking back? Unbelievable. Putting in the high press? Unbelievable. Dominating a lot of things? Unbelievable, but the disappointing thing is that you want to come away winning after what you’ve done on the pitch.”
