Sydney hosts Essendon in a Saturday twilight clash at the SCG as both sides look to finish the year in positive form amid extreme weather warnings.

The Swans (9-10, 93.9%) had their slim finals hopes emphatically dashed last Saturday by the fast-finishing Giants and are playing for pride to close out this season.
Meanwhile, the Bombers (6-12, 71.7%) continue to blood young talent, with NGA product Jayden Nguyen set to be the record-breaking 14th Essendon debutant for the year.

The Bombers, on an eight-game losing skid in a lost season cruelled by injury, have recalled Xavier Duursma, Ben Hobbs and Archer May amid four changes, with Jordan Ridley, Saad El-Hawli, Nate Caddy and Zak Johnson all going out.
The Swans, in Errol Gulden’s 100th AFL game, have made five changes of their own, headlined by the recall of Tom McCartin and debut for top draftee Jesse Dattoli.
Ollie Florent, Caiden Cleary and Peter Ladhams also come into the side, with Joel Hamling, Matt Roberts, Hayden McLean, Aaron Francis and Will Hayward going out.
The first bounce hit the SCG turf at 4:15pm AEST in Sydney, with Caiden Cleary (Swans) and Oskar Smartt (Bombers) the starting substitutes. There were no late changes.
