Dees coach Simon Goodwin, who continues to face pressure for his job and simply needs to conduct his side to four points, made just two changes for the fixture, recalling Harry Sharp and awarding Jai Culley a club debut against his former team.
The Eagles made four changes, with youngsters Campbell Chesser and Tom Gross among the inclusions, with the injured Harley Reid the key out.
The first bounce will hit the Marvel Stadium turf at 1:20pm AEST in Melbourne, with the substitutes and final teams for each side to be confirmed an hour beforehand.
There were no late changes, with Harry Sharp (Melbourne) and Hamish Davis (West Coast) named the starting subs.
