What’s the story of ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’?
Adapted from the novella by Truman Capote, ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ follows the socialite Holly Golightly (Hepburn) as she meets a struggling writer who moves into her apartment building.
Described in the press release as the “first complete account of the making of the film,” the upcoming movie will chronicle the influential romantic comedy through the chaotic pre-production (Capote wanted Marilyn Monroe to play Holly Golightly and felt the studio, Paramount, double crossed him by casting Hepburn) and on-set drama (a crew member was reportedly nearly electrocuted while filming the iconic opening sequence outside the flagship Tiffany & Co. on Fifth Avenue).
Collins hit Instagram to document her joy at the film’s progress:
Who else is involved in the new movie?
Imagine Entertainment is backing the film, with executives Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody and Justin Wilkes serving as producers on behalf of the production company. Marc Gilbar will executive produce and Joyce Choi will oversee the development.
