Tasmania has been rolled for its fourth-lowest home total in Sheffield Shield history as the fast bowlers continue to wreak havoc on a green Bellerive Oval deck on Friday morning.
After Victoria was bowled out for 222 on day one of the first-class contest, the hosts were in a precarious position at 4-52 overnight, still trailing by 170 runs.
However, the Tigers’ lower order couldn’t resurrect the innings the following morning, toppled for 91 in 43.2 overs following a frantic collapse of 6-23, with seamers Fergus O’Neill and Sam Eilliot each snaring three wickets. Nightwatcher Matt Kuhnemann top-scored for Tasmania with 23.
It was the Tigers’ lowest team total in a home Sheffield Shield match since 2018.

However, the hosts gave themselves a glimmer of home despite the heavy first-innings deficit, with quick Gabe Bell removing opener Sam Harper and No. 3 Blake Macdonald each for a duck before the break. The visitors were 2-11 at lunch on day two, leading by 142 runs.
Elsewhere in the Sheffield Shield, South Australia was 3-88 in their contest against New South Wales at Adelaide’s Karen Rolton Oval, still trailing by 181 runs, while Queensland had collapsed to 6-91 against Western Australia at Brisbane’s Allan Border Field.
