Emerging as a star in five seasons at St Helens, Dodd joined the Bunnies on a rich three-year deal from 2025 but was released after just one season and six games in first grade.

He has since returned to the Super League with the Catalans Dragons and has started his 2026 campaign in strong style.
After leading the Dragons to a 22-16 win over Leigh, Dodd disagreed to a statement made by Sky Sports’ Brian Carney that he wasn’t given a fair shake in the NRL.
“Obviously it didn’t go to plan or the way I wanted to, but I’ve said numerous times now that I wouldn’t change it,” Dodd said.
“The experiences and the lessons that I got both on and off the field is making me enjoy my rugby league now so I wouldn’t change it.”
When Carney then followed up whether Dodd felt he was “up to the high standard” of the NRL, the playmaker believes there’s no doubt.
“100%. That level, not just on the game but every day in training and what you do away from the game, that was the biggest lesson,” he replied.
“In a weird way it probably gave me more confidence knowing I can be at that level and to bring it back here and start enjoying my rugby league again.”
Through four rounds, Catalans are 2-2 and sit eighth on the ladder, with Dodd partnering former Dogs playmaker Toby Sexton in the halves on a team that features former NRL players Nic Cotric, Charlie Staines and Kruise Leeming.
