MEPs from Parliament’s Employment and Social Affairs Committee were in Italy from 30 March to 1 April 2026. After the visit, head of the delegation and committee chair Li Andersson (The Left, FI), said: “The programme during this mission was versatile and wide-ranging and gave us insights into several projects financed through the ESF in Italy. We saw models for rehabilitation that you do not see everywhere in Europe, in San Patrignano. We also had the opportunity to familiarise ourselves with labour exploitation, occupational health, and safety issues. The Employment and Social Affairs Committee highly values first-hand insight into these issues, and we will continue our work to improve the working and living conditions of various groups.”
During the mission, she was joined by Isabelle Le Callennec (EPP, FR), Liesbet Sommen (EPP, BE), Letizia Moratti (EPP, IT), Estelle Ceulemans (S&D, BE), Raffaele Topo (S&D, IT) and Chiara Gemma (ECR, IT).
