Collingwood’s call to manage two veteran stars for a blockbuster Round 8 opener against Hawthorn has been made even riskier by a pair of injury blows.

Beau McCreery is a surprise addition to the Magpies’ injury list and joins the hamstrung Tim Membrey on the sidelines.
Meanwhile having already decided to rest Scott Pendlebury off a five-day break after his Anzac Day heroics, the Pies have also managed Jeremy Howe.
In their stead skipper Darcy Moore returns alongside Wil Parker, Ned Long and Jack Buller.
Hawthorn, in contrast, is seriously boosted with James Sicily and Dylan Moore returning from suspension to join the side that smashed Gold Coast on Anzac Day.
Harry Morrison and Jack Dalton are the unlucky pair to be omitted for the veteran stars.
