Essendon defender Massimo D’Ambrosio has reportedly requested a trade to Hawthorn.
According to AFL Media’s Callum Twomey, the out-of-contract Bomber has handed in his trade request as he looks to make the move to Waverley in next month’s exchange period.
It’s believed Essendon only offered the 20-year old a one-year extension, whereas the Hawks’ tabled a longer deal.

D’Ambrosio has played 16 games including eight matches this season under Brad Scott since joining the Bombers via the mid-season draft in 2022.
He joined Essendon’s after playing for the club’s VFL side including a previous stint in Richmond’s twos.
D’Ambrosio becomes the second Bombers defender on the way out, with Brandon Zerk-Thatcher reportedly requesting a trade to Port Adelaide to return to his homestate of South Australia.
Essendon is however set to sign North Melbourne free agent Ben McKay after it was confirmed the key back would exercise his rights to move clubs without the need for a trade.
