Aussie pair Isabella Nichols and Jack Robinson have capped off a brilliant weekend for the locals, winning their respective titles at the Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach.
Nichols downed Brazilian star Luana Silver in the women’s final on Sunday, before Robinson completed the double with a narrow win over Japan’s Kanoa Igarashi.
Nichols only returned to the elite-level Champions Tour this year and has been in form recently having made the final of the El Salvador Pro, before recording her second top-level win following the 2022 Margaret River Pro.

“The process for this win has honestly been a 15-year process,” Nichols said.
“I’ve been coming here since I was 15 years old.
“All the trips down here, three times a year, to come down and work on my technique, and it’s all paid off.
“To have a bell, honestly, this does not feel real. I’m speechless.”
Meanwhile Robinson, the Paris Olympic silver medallist, claimed his eighth career Champions Tour win in five years.
“Far out man, it’s just a surreal feeling,” Robinson said.
“It’s been a special week, I’ve had my whole family here.”
