The 20-year-old star, who was on an extended bench for the Dragons’ clash with the Eels on Sunday, indicated a potential neck issue.
The Dragons took the precautionary measures with an ambulance transporting Pasifiki Tonga
to hospital where he will undergo further scans.
“He was conscious and communicating with medical staff at all times,” the club said in a statement.
“The club will provide an update on his condition once further information becomes available.”
Thankfully, the Dragons later revealed that scans confirmed Pasifiki Tonga had been cleared of any major neck injury concerns, with the youngster returning to the Dragons training facility on Thursday afternoon.
“He will be monitored by our medical staff over the coming days before a determination is made on his availability to play this weekend,” the statement read.
Pasifika Tonga scored one try in 10 games after making his NRL debut last year, but has been unable to play first grade yet this season.
