North Melbourne are out to defy history on Saturday evening against Port Adelaide, as they seek their first ever win at Adelaide Oval in an AFL match.
After a rough start to 2025, the Power (3-3, 98.1 per cent) have hit the ground running this last fortnight, with wins over Hawthorn and Sydney now keeping them back in touch with the middle of the ladder.
Meanwhile, it’s been a tough old few weeks for the Kangaroos (1-5, 72.7 per cent), who now travel to the ‘Portress’ having lost all 12 of their previous outings at the ground. Additionally, only four of those matches have they lost by less than six goals.

Interestingly though, this is the first time this decade that the two teams meet at Adelaide Oval, with their six most recent clashes all either at Bellerive Oval in Hobart, or a neutral venue during Covid.
Port will be without Travis Boak and rookie Tom Cochrane as they host North Melbourne on Saturday evening, as the latter deals with what looks to be a stress fracture in his foot. Rory Atkins has also been surprisingly dropped after making his club debut last week, with Joe Berry, Jeremy Finlayson and Joe Richards all returning to the senior side.
Roos coach Alastair Clarkson has swung the axe on key defensive pair Aidan Corr and Griffin Logue, who alongside the injured Zac Fisher (hamstring), make way for Kallan Dawson, Jackson Archer and Riley Hardeman.
There were no late changes for either side, with Jeremy Finlayson (Port Adelaide) and Zane Duursma (North Melbourne) named the starting subs.
The first bounce at Adelaide Oval will hit the turf of 3:45pm local time (4:15pm AEST).
