MAHOMES FAILS TO FINISH GAME, UNDER INJURY CLOUD (NY Post)
The Kansas City Chiefs moved to 13-1 while recording their biggest margin of victory all season, but will be sweating this week on the fitness of QB Patrick Mahomes.
Mahomes limped off with an ankle injury following a nasty collision on a failed fourth down conversion with less than eight minutes to go in the 21-7 win over the Cleveland Browns.
Mahomes was subbed out for Chiefs backup and former Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback Carson Wentz, who went 2-for-2 passing in his cameo.
“It’s not broken, it’s sore,” Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters after the game of Mahomes’ ankle.
The Chiefs starter finished his outing an unspectacular 19-for-38 with 159 passing yards and two touchdowns as his team improved to 13-1, still in first place in the AFC.
The Chiefs have a slightly shorter week as they host the Texans on Saturday before heading to Pittsburgh on Christmas Day.

However, in his eighth game back, Chubb suffered another season ending injury.
In his post-match press conference, Browns coach
On his day and when fully healthy, Chubb has proven to be one of the league’s best running backs.
He was paid like it back in 2021, when given a deal worth $12 million a year over three seasons.
Chubb will garner plenty of interest in free agency, but it’s unlikely he’ll be back with the Browns given the emergence of back up running back Jerome Ford.
