The Roosters have re-signed Origin prop Lindsay Collins on a deal that will keep him at the club until the end of 2028.

Collins was already locked down until 2026 but he’s now committed even further and penned another two-year extension.

The 27-year-old has made 94 first-grade appearances since making his NRL debut with the Roosters in 2017 and Collins has since represented Queensland and Australia.

The only place to watch every game of every round LIVE with no ad-breaks during play is Fox League, available on Kayo. New to Kayo? Start your free trial today >

“I consider myself very fortunate to put on the Sydney Roosters jersey and to represent this great club,” Collins said.

“We’ve got a great crew here and I love coming to work every day, so to know that I will be a Rooster for at least the next four years is something I’m very proud of.”

Roosters coach Trent Robinson praised Collins’ work ethic as “second to none”.

“Lindsay has been in our system for a number of years now and I’ve loved watching his progression from a young forward into one of the senior voices of our side,” Robinson said.

“His work ethic and his dedication to his craft and his teammates is second to none, and I have no doubt that he will continue to make a significant impact on and off the field in the coming years.”

STORM GUN EXTENDS

Storm gun Nick Meaney has signed a fresh contract that will see his stay in Melbourne extend until the end of the 2026 season.

The 26-year-old joined the Storm from the Bulldogs ahead of the 2022 season, quickly becoming a key member of Craig Bellamy’s squad.

Meaney has played at fullback in seasons past, but has now cemented a spot in the centres in 2024.

“Making the move to Melbourne has been a great decision career-wise and just for life in general,” Meaney said in a club statement.

“I really felt at home quickly both here at the club and living in Melbourne. I’ve made a home here with my family and I’m really happy to have my future sorted until the end of the 2026 season.”

Storm General Manager of Football, Frank Ponissi, was excited to see a key member of the club’s outside backs sign a new deal.

“We are delighted that Nick has extended his time with our club. Not only is he a valuable player because of his wonderful versatility in playing in so many positions, but more impressively he has been one of our most consistent and reliable players since he debuted for the club in Round One, 2022,” Ponissi said.

“Nick is highly respected by the Coaches and his teammates and along with his wife Shania and children Reign and Rome they have bought into the culture at the Melbourne Storm.”

KENNY TO CALL PENRITH HOME

The Panthers have moved to lock in a key member of their spine with Mitch Kenny inking a three-year extension.

Kenny is a two-time premiership winner having started at hooker for Penrith in the 2022 and 2023 Grand Finals.

He’s a local junior that progressed through the grades to make his NRL debut in 2019. He now has 86 games to his name.

“I’m thrilled to commit to the Panthers because this place is home to me,” Kenny said.

“Ivan Cleary and everyone at the club have supported me from the beginning, and I’m excited to repay the faith to them.

“It’s great to have the opportunity to continue wearing the Panthers jersey and representing our community for another three seasons.”

Panthers general manager of football Shane Elford added: “Mitch embodies the core qualities we value at our club, seen through his courage, determination, and dedication to his team.”
