A three-club race has emerged for the signature of NRLW superstar Tamika Upton, with Queensland clubs putting their name in the hat to secure the prized recruit.

That is according to Code Sports, who are reporting the Broncos, Titans and Cowboys are the clubs in the running to sign the Queensland Origin gun.
Brisbane and the Gold Coast are reportedly the leading contenders after the 27-year-old was granted an immediate release from her contract with the Knights last week.
Upton was released on compassionate grounds, reportedly struggling with living away from her family in Rockhampton while dealing with a private matter, having had three years remaining on her contract.
The gun fullback has returned to her family home and will reportedly sign with a club closer to her home town in Queensland.
Upton has previously won two premierships with the Broncos in 2019 and 2020, before making the move to Newcastle in 2022.
Brisbane could shift Hayley Maddick to the utility role to open up the No.1 jersey, and Upton could be a replacement for Ali Brigginshaw as captain in years to come.

Meanwhile, the Titans could acquire the final piece to push for a premiership alongside Jaime Chapman, Lauren Brown and Evania Pelite.
Upton has also won the Karyn Murphy Medal twice, and a move to the Gold Coast would see her place under the rugby league legend.
The Cowboys’ location could also play a factor in Upton’s decision, being based in Townsville.
