The Panthers will almost certainly either be in the market for a back-up hooker or will need to promote from within after confirming 13 players would be departing the club at the end of the year.
That includes Luke Sommerton, who will be starting in place of the injured Mitch Kenny this week, and another depth option at hooker in Soni Luke.
They will also need a fill-in fullback with Daine Laurie also leaving the club despite a standout game against the Bulldogs a fortnight ago.
Laurie said after the game that he was still hoping to receive an offer from the Panthers to stay an extra year but unfortunately he will have to look elsewhere.
Meanwhile, back-up halfback Brad Schneider is linking up with the Dolphins with the Panthers heavily linked to 2023 premiership winner Jack Cogger as his replacement.
Elsewhere, Mavrik Geyer is linking up with the Tigers and recent debutant Zac Lipowicz is headed overseas to the Super League.
Other departing players include Asu Kepaoa, John Sagaga, Zack Lamont, Austin Dias, Riley Price, Harry Hassett and Preston Riki.
PARRAMATTA EELS
The Eels have confirmed eight players will depart the club at the end of the 2025 season, including Knights’ $13 million man Dylan Brown, who plays his last game for the club against the team he will join on Sunday.
Brown (Knights), Joe Ofahengaue (mid-season to Leigh Leopards), Bryce Cartwright (retired) and Shaun Lane (retired) were already announced earlier in the season.
The other four players are hooker Joey Lussick, prop Wiremu Greig, forward Dan Keir and injury-plagued outside back Haze Dunster.
Brendan Hands’ future is clouded, given he is contracted for 2026 but may be moved on by the club, given they have Ryley Smith and Tallyn Da Silva as their first choice dummyhalf options.
Bailey Simonsson has asked for a release on multiple ocassions, but remains contracted until 2027.
Ryan Matterson may return to the club after his loan stint in England for the start of the 2026 season.

MANLY SEA EAGLES
Tommy Talau and Josh Aloiai were among those Manly players farewelled with skipper Daly Cherry-Evans after their win over the Warriors.
The Daily Telegraph reported Aloiai is in talks with the NRL over a potential medical retirement due to a shoulder injury.
Talau broke his thumb against the Warriors and remains unsigned for 2026, while back-up hooker Gordon Gordon Chan Kum Tong is also without a deal next year.
Aaron Schoupp was close to signing with Warrington in the Super League, but his knee rupture against the Warriors means his future is no up in the air.
Meanwhile, off-contract props Siosiua Taukeiaho and Matt Lodge remain in discussions with the club about next season.
