Team Tips: Don’t expect this to be a week Chris Scott messes around with his side, though there are some handy names outside the Cats’ best 23 right now that might be ready to return for the grand final rematch. Jack Henry (foot) and Mark Blicavs (knee) could push for selection, while Gryan Miers (23 disposals) played in the VFL on the weekend and surely forces his way back in. Mitch Edwards was rested against the Pies but might not be a certainty to come back in after Rhys Stanley impressed as the number one ruck. Unfortunately, fringe Cat Jhye Clark has entered concussion protocols after a knock at training and will be unavailable for selection.

Team Tips: The selection squeeze is on for the ladder leaders. They should welcome back Charlie Curnow (abdominal) and Jai Serong (hamstring tightness) from injury, while defender Tom McCartin is also a test as he tries to prove himself fit from a knee sprain. Hayden McLean kicked three goals in his reprieve and surely holds his spot. But will the Dean Cox opt for four talls — Curnow, McLean, Joel Amartey and Logan McDonald — against Collingwood? It hasn’t been Sydney’s preferred front-half look in what looms as an intriguing call. Matt Roberts and Billy Cootee were quiet against North and could come under selection pressure, while Harry Cunningham was the club’s lowest-rated player from the weekend. Corey Warner (36 disposals, four goals), Peter Ladhams (28 disposals) and Caiden Cleary (37 disposals) were among Sydney’s best in the VFL, but this is a tough side to crack into right now.

Team Tips: A couple of confirmed outs for the Pies for the daunting trip to the SCG. Scott Pendlebury will be managed ahead of his record game against West Coast in Round 11, while Darcy Moore will miss with a concussion. The club’s injury report on Tuesday evening has also revealed that 150-gamer Pat Lipinski will also miss the trip, after entering concussion protocols alongside Moore after a fourth quarter clash. Ruck Darcy Cameron will need to pass a fitness test at Wednesday’s main training after a direct impact knock to his ankle in the nine-goal loss. Bobby Hill continues to ply his trade in the VFL and push for selection. You sense the Norm Smith medallist will get a crack any week now. Ed Allan had a game-high 32 disposals in the VFL, and Jakob Ryan (24 touches) and Charlie West (four goals) also impressed in the twos. Will Hayes was probably stiff to get dropped, too, and will be in the mix.

Team Tips: Damien Hardwick’s Suns will keep on getting stronger this Friday night, with the expectation that Matt Rowell will return from an ankle complaint that kept him out of their first Darwin fixture. While not like-for-like, he could end up being a straight swap for Ethan Read, who will be sidelined after aggravatting an existing problem with his right PCL against St Kilda. He played just 34 per cent game time, while Jamarra Ugle-Hagan was quiet throughout the clash before a late scare with a leg hyperextension. Forward Ben Long will also be a test, after hurting his ankle in the second term over the weekend. There’s also the question of whether Jarrod Witts returns alongside, or in place of Ned Moyle. The Power has deployed a dual ruck combination the last month, so there’s a chance the pair play alongside each other. That being said, Moyle paired with the former captain just twice in his 24 games last year. None of Alex Davies, Lachie Gulbin or Ben Jepson shot the lights out in Round 9, but would a little stiff to be dropped given their strong reserves form. The club’s VFL had a bye over the weekend, and while Jai Murray and Beau Addinsall have been in red-hot form of late, it’s unlikely either make their debuts just yet.

Team Tips:Miles Bergman was the main casualty to come out of Port Adelaide’s agonising loss to the Bulldogs, with the defender to be sidelined for an extended period after undergoing toe surgery. Fellow defender Josh Lai is another forced out after entering concussion protocols. But in positive news, Port Adelaide confirmed on Monday that third-year prospect Tom Anastasopoulos would make his league debut against the Suns on Friday night. Anastosopoulos, who was drafted with the 48th pick back in 2023, kicked 3.1 from 22 disposals and 11 marks in the SANFL side’s win over Central District at the weekend. Meanwhile, as the Power prepare to come up against Gold Coast’s tall forward line of Ben King, Jamarra Ugle-Hagan and Ethan Read, Esava Ratugolea returned through the SANFL and could be a consideration to return, while Todd Marshall was an emergency last weekend after being dropped, while Brandon Zerk-Thatcher continues to run around in the magoos. Tom Cochrane had a day out in the SANFL, booting 5.2 from 17 disposals and four tackles to press his case for a recall.

Team Tips: Despite still having several players from their best 23 sidelined, there continues to be a genuine selection squeeze at West Lakes. In the reserves, Darcy Fogarty returned from his back niggle with three goals, while Callum Ah Chee got through unscathed with 16 disposals and a major. The latter looks just about a lock to return, while you’d suspect coach Matthew Nicks will be keen to get Fogarty back too given Taylor Walker will almost certainly still be sidelined with a hamstring strain — despite surprisingly being listed as a test. Their dynamic will be a fascinating one to watch once the key forward does return, given Toby Murray’s successful couple of games as a forward-ruck in his absence. In another welcome surprise, defender Jordan Butts has recovered quicker than expected with an adductor injury as is a chance to return, which could squeeze James Borlase out again despite his solid returns. After a blistering SANFL game only weeks ago, Jake Soligo was quiet once more with just eight disposals from 64 per cent game time. Matthew Nicks’ side have only pulled the trigger on Billy Dowling once since the end of 2024, but after yet another busy game in the reserves, now feels like the right time to give him another shot — potentially at Soligo’s expense. The 21-year-old has been emergency for five straight weeks, and has proven himself capable of hitting the scoreboard in addition to winning the ball. Despite being honourable at most opportunities, the likes of Zac Taylor and Hugh Bond are also slightly vulnerable at selection heading into this weekend. Defender Mitch Hinge will have to wait another week to return from his hamstring injury this weekend. Dashing defender/winger Luke Nankervis will continue to be a weekly consideration also.

Team Tips: After an honourable eight-point loss to the top-of-the-table Sydney last Saturday, there’s a very real world where Alastair Clarkson goes to Adelaide with minimal changes to his side. South Australian Tom Powell however may get the chance to play his 100th AFL game in front of his family and friends this Saturday, should he overcome the groin soreness that ruled him out of Round 9. There’s no obvious omission from the current side in his place, though one of Jacob Konstanty or Charlie Spargo may be squeezed out to accommodate his return. Or, while unlikely, they could manage the loads of veteran Jack Darling if needed who has played eight out of nine games so far this season. In the VFL’s two-goal win at Arden Street, emergency Cooper Harvey and Riley Hardeman were the main stars of the show to push their name forward for selection, while promisingly, first-year draftee Hugo Mikunda had a breakout performance down back with 24 touches and 10 intercepts.

Team Tips: The Dees keep on keeping on, heading into Round 10, after a relatively unassuming 32-point win over West Coast. The one change you can expect, though, is Daniel Turner’s return, who was a late out of the clash at Marvel Stadium with illness. He was replaced by Andy Moniz-Wakefield, who played his first AFL game in 646 days, but only had 34 per cent time on ground. Beyond the straight swap, though, it’s unlikely to see too many other changes. Key forward Matthew Jefferson was quiet with just three disposals and a goal from 90 per cent game time, and may be another selection consideration. Veteran Jake Melksham will need at least another week to return from a syndesmosis injury he sustained in Gather Round. In Casey’s horror 122-point loss to Carlton’s VFL side, Trent Rivers had plenty of the ball in his return from a knee injury, while Luker Kentfield continued to impress despite finishing with a wayward 2.4.

Team Tips: Aside from the loss, Tom Barrass’ injury was the main sour note to come from last Thursday’s clash with Fremantle, with reports the star defensive stopper is set to miss the next few weeks recovering. Noah Mraz could be in with a chance for a debut if Sam Mitchell opts for a like-for-like replacement for Barrass, otherwise it could be a mid-sized type like Flynn Perez with Melbourne having just Jacob van Rooyen and Matt Jefferson as keys to deal with. Box Hill had a bye at the weekend, but the week previous, Mraz took eight marks from 14 disposals. Conor Nash and Jack Gunston also came away from Perth with concerns, with Nash placed in concussion protocols after delayed symptoms, and Gunston leaving in a moon boot. The latter will be a watch this week with a midfoot sprain ahead of the clash with the Dees. Henry Hustwaite was an emergency last Thursday and could be considered for a recall. Mabior Chol (hamstring) won’t return for at least another week, while Calsher Dear (adductor) looks unlikely at this stage to be passed fit. If Dear return, it would likely be at the expense of Max Ramsden.

Wade Derksen booted five goals for the Blues in their massive VFL win over Casey. Brodie Kemp was quiet in Round 9, but you wouldn’t suspect there’d be a change there given his promising recent form. Blake Acres kicked two goals from 31 touches in the VFL, Lachie Fogarty booted two majors from 22 touches, and Jack Ison kept up his strong goalkicking form and is inching closer to a debut opportunity. He, Derksen and Matt Cottrell were the emergencies against Brisbane.

Team Tips: It was a much-needed Bulldogs win to snap a four-game losing streak, with Marcus Bontempelli — who continues to play through heel and knee pain — at the forefront. It means that after three omissions at selection last week, there might be more stability this Thursday ahead of a fairly straightforward fixture with Carlton. But there’ll be at least one forced change, with starting ruckman Tim English placed in concussion protocols after copping a knock against the Power. It means that after Louis Emmett was dropped for Lachlan Smith last Thursday, Emmett is a likely chance of a recall to fill English’s void. Footscray had a bye last weekend. Key defenders Rory Lobb and James O’Donnell are still one, if not two weeks away from a return from hamstring injuries.

Team Tips: In unfortunate news for top South Australian draftee Dyson Sharp, the 18-year-old dislocated his shoulder during last Saturday’s 14-point loss to GWS. A decision on whether he has season-ending surgery or they try to strengthen his shoulder organically will be made imminently you suspect, but either way, he won’t be playing this weekend. Additionally, Zak Johnson, fresh off his two-year extension at the club, will miss a notable period of time with a recently discovered broken foot. Brad Scott at this stage will be hoping Sharp’s direct replacement is Jye Caldwell, who missed Round 9 with an ankle sprain. Winger Nik Cox and the also recently re-signed Archer Day-Wicks were on the quieter side against the Giants, but you would understand if Scott were to give his younger figures a chance to respond. Emergency Elijah Tsatas responded strongly to yet another omission in a best on ground performance for the VFL side with 35 disposals and a goal, while Jade Gresham also had a huge game with four goals from 20 touches. Omitted key defender Ben McKay was solid with 15 disposals and seven intercepts, but didn’t set the world alight, so it wouldn’t surprise to see him in the reserves once more.

Team Tips: After a barnstorming comeback over Hawthorn last week, don’t expect many, if any, unforced changes by Justin Longmuir ahead of a Sunday afternoon meeting with Essendon. There will be at least one forced change, though, in an unfortunate setback for captain Alex Pearce. The skipper suffered an MCL injury in the game’s waning moments last Thursday, with the club ruling him out for at least one game. Veteran defender Oscar McDonald, who was an emergency for the Hawks game, shapes as the obvious inclusion, while Hugh Davies and Josh Draper are additional, seemingly less likely, options. Elsewhere, ruckman Sean Darcy is likely still at least a fortnight away from a return from his calf injury.

Team Tips: What’s gone on here? After being a late withdrawal from last Saturday night’s match in Darwin, superstar Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera has suddenly been ruled out for three weeks with a low-grade calf strain, the club has confirmed. Their initial observation was that he had a corkie, but scans revealed short-term damage. In better news, co-captain Callum Wilkie could still play despite a heavy knee to the back from Suns forward Ben King that ruled him out of the second half of last week’s loss. The club’s ultra-tough three weeks after the Tigers means they can’t afford a Wilkie that isn’t at full fitness, so you’d suspect despite his incredible streak of 164 games since his AFL debut, he may be a chance for a rest. In better news Jack Higgins is a test from his concussion, and will be hopeful of returning to the senior fold. Wanganeen-Milera’s late inclusion Ryan Byrnes played his first AFL game for 2026 and had 15 disposals, and should now hold his spot for at least another week. Liam Stocker was quiet in the ‘Top End’, which may open the door for an Angus Hastie-type to come into selection calculations after a busy VFL game off half-back. South Australian ruck Alex Dodson registered a whopping 51 hitouts in the inaugural Trevor Barker Cup against former affiliate Sandringham, while James Barrat is a potential debut watch after another solid showing in the reserves. Emergency Alix Taura has been sidelined once more through suspension after striking a Zebras player.

Team Tips: Richmond will be disappointed it couldn’t carry on with it in the second half against Adelaide, but there were again good signs from Adem Yze’s side. However, there was an 18th addition to the already-chock-full injury list, with Tom Brown (forearm) going down early on Mother’s Day. Young running defender Sam Grlj (managed) was a late exclusion on Sunday, so he’s likely to come back into the side to add pace from the back half. South Australian Kane McAuliffe has also been added to their injury list after experiencing Achillies soreness. It now means that if Kaleb Smith doesn’t pass his fitness test for a groin issue, Yze won’t have 26 listed players to pick for their extended squad. Otherwise, there likely won’t be too many unforced changes, as the Tigers fielded just three AFL-listed players in the reserves’ loss to Williamstown at the weekend – fledgling ruck Samson Ryan, young midfielder Noah Roberts-Thomson, and third-string key forward Liam Fawcett. Toby Nankervis (hamstring) isn’t as close to a return as was intimated by the club last week, meaning Noah Balta and Ollie Hayes-Brown are likely to continue manning the ruck against the Saints.

Team Tips: In a cruel blow once more, key defender Harry Edwards has been sidelined again with his third concussion in a short space of time. Having taken seven rounds to return from his most recent head knock, a timeline on his return could well be indefinite, as the AFL world wishes him the best. Small forward Matthew Owies will be hopeful of overcoming a groin complaint. In his first AFL game since 2024, Harvey Johnston was quiet with six disposals, but did show some nice pressure around the ball. In the WAFL side’s 61-point loss to South Fremantle, veteran Jamie Cripps went down with what has since been confirmed as a significant MCL strain. The omitted Elijah Hewett was among the best with 29 disposals, while Jack Williams kicked 2.2 from his 14 touches.

Team Tips: In positive news, Jesse Hogan (hip) and Ryan Angwin (concussion) have been listed as ‘tests’ to play this weekend, after missing their side’s 14-point win over Essendon last Saturday evening. Unfortunately, teammate Leek Aleer will miss one to two weeks with his ankle concern. Despite kicking two goals, Max Gruzewski looks the obvious omission should Hogan return, while Oli Hannaford played just 37 per cent game time and looks another who could be culled alongside Toby McMullin (four disposals, 57 per cent time on ground). Unfortunately in another blow to their depth, emergency Harry Rowston will be sidelined for the next fortnight with a recent knee infection. There weren’t a whole heap who impressed in the reserves’ 51-point loss to Essendon, but uncapped second-year midfielder Jack Ough kept himself busy with 35 disposals (15 contested), eight clearances and seven tackles. Category B rookie Riley Hamilton also continued his consistent form in front of goal with three majors, taking his five-game tally this season to 11 goals.
