The Bulldogs return to Ballarat to try and kickstart their season against a rising Gold Coast Suns outfit raring to continue their undefeated form.
The Western Bulldogs (0-1, 58.7%) are aiming to avoid a truly calamitous start to their 2024 campaign, swinging changes at selection including the omission of Rory Lobb.
Gold Coast (2-0, 139.5%), meanwhile, take a very healthy squad to regional Victoria, but will be without livewire forward Malcolm Rosas (suspension), while last year’s Pick 3 Jed Walter is set to debut.

Bulldogs key defenders Ryan Gardner (foot, two-to-three weeks) and James O’Donnell (concussion, one week) remain sidelined, while Lachie Weller (knee, minimum 12 weeks) is Gold Coast’s only long-term injury.
Walter’s rookie campaign didn’t get off to a flying start — breaking his collarbone in the pre-season — but he’ll get his first chance to stamp his influence in Round 2.
This match gets underway at 1:00pm AEDT from Mars Stadium.
