The Perth Scorchers can lock in yet another Big Bash finals appearance with a win over the Melbourne Renegades on Thursday night, as they seek redemption for their last-ball loss to them just one week ago.
And while the Renegades’ hero with the bat that match in Ollie Peake is unavailable due to Australia Under 19 World Cup commitments, the visiting Perth side will also be without a star of their own.

Australian Test player Josh Inglis has been rested from the Marvel Stadium fixture as he prepares for next month’s T20 World Cup in India, with the Scorchers opting for just a 13-man squad in their travels to Victoria.
As for the Renegades, they welcome back Ashes quick Brendan Doggett from hamstring awareness, alongside handy all-rounder Matthew Spoors. Left-arm wrist-spinner Callum Stow and veteran quick Andrew Tye have been released from their squad.
The hosts are all but certain to miss finals this campaign, needing a number of improbable wins and results to fall their way to even be a chance. For the Scorchers though, the Hobart Hurricanes’ shock loss on Wednesday night means the minor premiership is still possible heading into tonight.
The bat flip (toss) will take place at 6:30pm AEDT, with the first ball to be bowled 45 minutes later at 7:15pm local time.
