Broncos superstar fullback Reece Walsh isn’t going anywhere.
That’s according to coach Kevin Walters, who joked that he’s “mortgaged the house to keep him”, as Brisbane prepare to offer Walsh a deal reportedly worth $1.1 million a year.
According to The Courier Mail, the Broncos and Walsh have begun talking extension. The 21-year-old comes off contract at the end of 2025.

The Broncos hope to have a deal signed by Walsh in the next few months. Brisbane have been busy in retaining some top-end talent, with Payne Haas, Pat Carrigan and Ezra Mam all signing long-term deals.
“He (Walsh) won’t be going anywhere,” Walters said.
“I’ve just mortgaged the house to keep him here.
“A lot of those guys… Ezra is another one, we did deals for Payne and Patty (Carrigan) last year, they are long-term players here for the club.
“Walshy is no different. We love having him here and he enjoys being around the place as well.”

Haas echoed his coach, telling The Courier Mail he “was confident” Walsh won’t be playing elsewhere.
That’s despite rival clubs likely being able to offer a couple of hundred thousand dollars more a season than the Broncos can.
I am hopeful he signs,” the Broncos prop said.
“I want to keep Reece here, but at the end of the day that’s his decision and I’m not going to tell him what to do.
“We want him here and hopefully he does re-sign. I’m confident he won’t leave.”
Walsh has been named to line up for the Broncos in their trial match against the Cowboys on Sunday.
