Adam Scott and Cam Davis have surged up the leaderboard during the third round of the PGA Tour’s season opening tournament The Sentry in Hawaii.

The pair both recorded -9, 64’s for the day to move to -18 for the tournament and in a tie for 10th entering the final round.
Despite this, it appears they might be too far back to be a winning threat with leader Hideki Matsuyama setting a blistering pace.
Matsuyama carded a -11, 62 in the third round to move to -27. Collin Morikawa is one shot back on -26 with Thomas Detry third on -22.
Matsuyama and Morikawa are within reach of Cameron Smith’s PGA Tour record of -34, which was set back in 2022 at this very tournament.
Scott’s front nine was simply superb. The veteran shot a stunning -7 par 29 on the, recording birdies in seven of nine holes.
Davis didn’t get much going in Round 1, but more than made up for it with two successive rounds of 64.
The highlight of his third round was an eagle on the par four, 14th.
Davis whacked his tee shot on the short par four, landed just left of the green before rolling a chip shot into the cup.
Scott has been in terrific form over the past six to nine months and said following the second round that even at 44, it’s not “unrealistic” to get back among the top of the rankings.
“I don’t think it’s unrealistic to think I can still achieve a couple big victories out here that I would like, and that’s really what drives me,” he said.
