2025 marks a new and exciting era for Fox Footy, as the AFL’s new broadcast rights deal comes into effect.
Fox Footy will broadcast Super Saturday Live, bringing you all the action, news and analysis every weekend. The best part about it? It’s the only place you can watch Saturday footy LIVE every weekend.
Fox Footy now has its own commentary team and graphics for every match of the round. That means fans will be able to hear the likes of Matt Hill, Anthony Hudson and Mark Howard on the call, while the game’s best analysts and special comments, including David King, Jason Dunstall and Leigh Montagna will also be coming to you more often.
“It’s fantastic. It’s great to be doing all nine games, the more footy the better I reckon. I think we’ve got an outstanding calling team,” Brisbane Lions champion and Fox Footy commentator Alastair Lynch said.
“Our special comments guys are all the very best and to work more with them is something I’m really looking forward to. (It will be a) massive year and it’s nice to be getting started this weekend after a false start.”
In 2025, for the first nine weeks of the season across the country, every Saturday game will be exclusively live only on Fox Footy, available via Foxtel and Kayo Sports.

GEELONG CATS v FREMANTLE DOCKERS
Saturday March 15, 1.20pm at GMHBA Stadium
How to watch on Fox Footy: Super Saturday starts from 12pm on Channel 504, hosted by Kath Loughnan, Jack Riewoldt, David King and Jay Clark, with commentary from Leigh Montagna, Jonathan Brown, Tom Hawkins and Cameron Mooney
Super Saturday Live kicks off with a mouth-watering clash between the Cats and Dockers at GMHBA Stadium. Geelong will unveil new recruit Bailey Smith for the first time as they look to improve on last year’s preliminary final exit. When fit and firing, Smith is one of the most exciting players in the competition. His hard-running and penetrating kick is eye-catching, while his luscious blonde mullet makes him one of the game’s most recognisable figures. But he’s not the only star down at the Cattery. Jeremy Cameron is one of the game’s best entertainers, while captain Patrick Dangerfield can turn any game on its head. Tom Stewart is as courageous as they come, while Max Holmes is also on the rise.
The Dockers possess one of the best midfield brigades in the competition, headlined by Andrew Brayshaw and Caleb Serong. Their forward line is also emerging, led by Josh Treacy and Jye Amiss. GMHBA Stadium has been a fortress for Geelong for several years, but the Dockers have won their past two encounters there. Fox Footy analyst David King reckons the Dockers will win the flag this year: “They’re better stocked than any other team,” he said. Cats champion, Cameron Mooney, has tipped the Dockers to get the better of his former side this weekend.

SYDNEY SWANS v BRISBANE LIONS
Saturday March 15, 4.15pm at the SCG
How to watch on Fox Footy: From 4pm on Channel 504, hosted by Kath Loughnan, Jack Riewoldt, David King and Jay Clark, with commentary from Dwayne Russell, Jordan Lewis, Nathan Buckley and Alastair Lynch.
Did somebody say Grand Final rematch? Last year’s two best sides will go head-to-head in a juicy round one encounter that is sure to thrill. Brisbane have just two changes from last year’s premiership winning side: ruck Oscar McInerney returns in place of the retired Joe Daniher, while father-son gun Levi Ashcroft will play as the substitute in place of Conor McKenna. Ashcroft is the son of Lions champion Marcus, and the brother of last year’s Norm Smith Medallist Will. Alongside former Brownlow Medallist Lachie Neale and talented midfielders Josh Dunkley and Hugh McCluggage, the Ashcroft boys will be stars of the competition for many years to come.
A bit has changed up in Sydney since their embarrassing showing on Grand Final day. John Longmire stepped down as coach and was replaced by former Eagle Dean Cox and questions remain over whether there are scars after such a poor showing on the biggest day of the year. They were beaten by an emerging Hawthorn outfit in Opening Round, but there’s still plenty of talent. On this week’s episode of On the Couch, Brisbane champion Jonathan Brown challenged the Swans’ on-ballers to lift this weekend. “Their mids need to respond,” he said. Isaac Heeney is a human highlights reel, Chad Warner is quickly becoming one of the best players in the league and Tom Papley is a livewire in the front half. The Lions have won six of their past seven encounters, but can the Swans make a statement this time around? Three of our Fox Footy expert tipsters think they can.

WESTERN BULLDOGS v NORTH MELBOURNE KANGAROOS
Saturday March 15, 7.35pm at Marvel Stadium
How to watch on Fox Footy: From 7.15pm on Channel 503, with Matt Hill, Dermott Brereton, Ben Dixon and Ruby Schleicher
You’ve heard of Hokball and Bazball, now it’s time for Northball. The Roos have been cellar dwellers for several years now, but things are starting to brighten up at Arden Street. Master coach Alastair Clarkson possesses arguably the best young talent in the league, and it feels like this is the year they could start their rise up the ladder. “Everywhere you look, we’ve got so much young talent, and we have so many years ahead of us to make it work, but we want to fast track that as much as possible to make the most of it,” young gun Harry Sheezel told foxfooty.com.au. Alongside Sheezel, there’s Finn O’Sullivan and Colby McKercher, who fans should also keep an eye on. Add veteran trio Caleb Daniel, Luke Parker and Jack Darling to the mix and there’s reasons to believe for North Melbourne in 2025.
The Dogs are vulnerable. Captain Marcus Bontempelli, star midfielder Adam Treloar, defenders Liam Jones and Jason Johannisen and gun forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan are all missing from Luke Beveridge’s round one team. Heading into the final year of his contract, it looms as a crucial season for Beveridge and the Bulldogs. But they’re not short of firepower. Father-son tall Sam Darcy looks prime to explode this year, Richmond champion Jack Riewoldt even going as far as to tip him for the Coleman Medal. Tom Liberatore is an old-fashioned, in and under midfielder, while Ed Richards, Aaron Naughton and Tim English are also gun footballers. AFLW champion Chloe Molloy is tipping the Roos to cause an upset, but all of our other experts believe the Bulldogs can knuckle down for a gritty victory.

COLLINGWOOD MAGPIES v PORT ADELAIDE POWER
Saturday March 15, 7.35pm at the MCG
How to watch on Fox Footy: From 7.15pm on Channel 504, hosted by Kath Loughnan, Jack Riewoldt, David King and Jay Clark, with commentary from Anthony Hudson, Mark Howard, Jason Dunstall, Nick Dal Santo, Brad Johnson and Eddie Betts.
Welcome to the ‘Dan Houston Cup’. When Collingwood and Port Adelaide clash on Saturday night, there’s bound to be fireworks. The Pies made a bold play to lure Houston to the club last season and after missing Opening Round due to suspension, fans will finally get a look at their prized recruit. The Pies will be out to redeem themselves after last week’s disappointing affair against GWS, but with the likes of Nick Daicos and Scott Pendlebury in their side, there’s no doubt that they are capable. Elsewhere, ex-Giant Harry Perryman and livewire forward Bobby Hill are two other names to watch.
The Ken Hinkley era enters its final season without one of the club’s best players in Zak Butters, but that just creates opportunities for others to step up. Captain Connor Rozee stuffed the stats sheet throughout the pre-season and is ready to take his game to the next level, while Jason Horne-Francis is a rising star. In fact, Fox Footy’s very own Jon Ralph and Kelli Underwood have both tipped ‘JHF’ to take home this year’s Brownlow Medal. Draftee Joe Berry will slot straight into Ken Hinkley’s forward set up, alongside new recruits Joe Richards and Jack Lukosius. Can the Power finally win a preliminary final and progress through to the big dance this season? Only time will tell, but we’ll learn a lot more after their clash against the Pies. This match-up has split our expert tipsters 6-3.
