On the day of the ceremony, accredited journalists will also have the opportunity to interview representatives of the five shortlisted films. The following representatives of the nominated films are expected to attend the ceremony and be available to media:

Confirmations will be sent by 10 April eob. The interviews would take place on 14 April at the European Parliament.
Registration for the ceremony
The event – starting at 18.00 – will bring together MEPs, representatives of the five nominated films, and members of the public, to celebrate the winning film. Members of the press will need valid accreditation to access the European Parliament. More on the accreditation process here.

Press point
A press point with representatives of the winning film and the vice-president of the European Parliament Sabine VERHEYEN will take place after the ceremony, outside the hemicycle. The press point will be webstreamed.
Watch and rate the movies
The winner of the award is selected jointly by MEPs and members of the public, on the basis of one- to five-star ratings, with the two groups’ ratings weighted evenly. The deadline for rating the films is 12 April 2026. To help choose the winner, visit the LUX Audience Award website.
Background
The LUX Audience Award has been awarded by the European Parliament and the European Film Academy, in partnership with the European Commission and the Europa Cinemas network, since 2020. The award helps to promote and distribute European films of a high artistic quality that reflect cultural diversity and touch on topics of common concern, such as democracy, human dignity, equality, fairness, inclusion, tolerance, justice and solidarity. Around 1,200 visitors attended the 2025 LUX Audience Award ceremony.
