Premiering on Paramount+ on May 12th is the new spin-off to ‘Yellowstone’, which is entitled ‘Dutton Ranch‘ and stars Kelly Reilly (‘Sherlock Holmes’) as Beth Dutton and Cole Hauser (‘Good Will Hunting’) as Rip Wheeler.
In addition to Reilly and Hauser, the series stars Finn Little (‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’), Natalie Alyn Lind (‘Pet Sematary: Bloodlines’), Jai Courtney (‘Suicide Squad’), Ed Harris (‘Top Gun: Maverick’), and Annette Bening (‘Captain Marvel’).
Moviefone recently had the pleasure of speaking with Finn Little and Natalie Alyn Lind about their work on ‘Dutton Ranch’, reintroducing the returning ‘Yellowstone’ characters, why Lind enjoys about playing her character, and why ‘Yellowstone’ fans should be excited about the new spin-off.

Moviefone: To begin with, Finn, Carter was originally introduced on ‘Yellowstone’, what was it like to take that character and reintroduce him in this spin-off?
Finn Little: I was excited about going into ‘Dutton Ranch’. It is a ‘Yellowstone’ spinoff, but it is its own story. I was excited to explore Carter more. I was excited to see where the character was going because I don’t think viewers were done with the show. I think people want more, so I’m just excited to keep playing the character.

MF: Natalie, can you talk about your first reaction to the scripts for the series and why you wanted to play this character?
Natalie Alyn Lind: I think that she is a powerhouse, but at the same time, she’s got this crazy energy. It all comes from a place of passion, I would say. But even in the first and second episodes, you can tell that she’s been deeply hurt in her life. One of my favorite parts of ‘Yellowstone’ are the family storylines and the way family can be is so hurtful, and family can hurt you more than anybody, but you love your family members more than anybody too. So yeah. I think it was fun to not just play a crazy character, but someone that is rooted in passion, hurt and craziness.

MF: Finally, Finn, what would you say to fans of ‘Yellowstone’ to get them excited to watch ‘Dutton Ranch’?
FL: I think people are going to be excited to see the new environment of Texas. I mean, you can’t really make ‘Yellowstone’ without Montana, so this is going to be a very different feel, but it still has that ‘Yellowstone’ feel that all of Taylor Sheridan’s shows have. I think people are going to be excited to see what Texas has for everyone.
