Australia’s Kaye Scott has won the vacant WBA and WBC women’s middleweight titles after defeating American Olivia Curry by majority decision on Sunday AEDT.
After the duo’s previous clash in September ended as a majority draw, Scott emerged victorious from the ten-round main event at Detroit’s Fox Theatre with scores of 98-92, 97-93 and an unexpected 95-95 from one of the judges.

An accidental headbutt occurred in the second round, which opened a cut over Curry’s right eye, while Scott’s jab proved an effective weapon during the opening rounds.
Neither fighter landed any effective blows during the closing rounds, by which stage Scott’s victory appeared a near certainty.
The 41-year-old Sydneysider now holds a record of 5-1-1.
