The NRL has announced the a bumper class of 11 inductees into the NRL Hall of Fame, headlined by Maroons legends Cameron Smith and Johnathan Thurston.
In addition to Smith and Thurston, fellow Queensland greats Billy Slater, Cooper Cronk and Greg Inglis have been inducted as well as former Souths captain Sam Burgess, New Zealand and Tigers star Benji Marshall, indigenous trailblazer Lionel Morgan, a Kangaroos star of the 1970’s-1980’s in Les Boyd, NSW and Tigers legend Benny Elias and four-time premiership winner and the Broncos leading try-scorer Steve Renouf.
These 11 decorated names will join coaches Wayne Bennett and Jack Gibson, administrators Ken Arthurson and John Quayle, as well as broadcast legends Frank Hyde and David Morrow as this year’s inductees into the NRL Hall of Fame.

“I’m in awe of this group of players and what they have each done in the game and for the game,” ARLC Chairman Peter V’landys said via a statement issued by the NRL.
“This is the best of the best across several phenomenal eras. The group is full of Premiership winners, Dally M Medal winners, Clive Churchill Medal winners, Australia, New Zealand and England representatives.
“There are brilliant halves, powerful and durable forwards and gifted outside backs. All of these players are exceptional.
“What an amazing group of players. All different, all deserving in their own right. This list of players includes some of the toughest, the most talented, the greatest players of their generations.”
All of the 2024 Hall-0f-Fame inductees will be celebrated at a ceremony at the SCG on August 21.
