‘I had to leave’: Former UFC star’s brutal take on fighting skills of infamous influencer Andrew Tate

Darren Till has taken aim at Andrew Tate’s boxing performance over the weekend, offering a brutally blunt assessment of what he witnessed.

The controversial social media influencer returned to the ring for the first time in five years on Sunday, taking on reality TV star Chase DeMoor in the main event of Misfits Mania event in Dubai.

In a major upset, DeMoor defeated the former kickboxer by majority decision, with Tate later admitting he lost “fair and square”.

Till, who has transitioned into boxing following his departure from the UFC, was ringside for the bout but didn’t hang around for very long.

“I’ve given my life — 20 years to this sport — I strive, myself, on pure, striking martial arts,” Till said.

“I consider myself one of the best striking martial artists in the world. A pair of numpties call me out like that, and I’m sat ringside.

“I had to leave, because it disrespects everything I believe in and everything I’ve trained for.

“What am I watching? I’m actually unlearning as I’m watching. So, yeah. What?”

Had Tate beaten DeMoor, it could have set the stage for a showdown with Till, who had been calling for the fight.

Till is 2-0 in the Misfits promotion, with wins over Anthony Taylor and former UFC champion Luke Rockhold.

Other UFC former fighters were just as scathing in their assessment of the bout.

“This is hilariously bad,” Michael Bisping posted on X.

“Do yall believe us now when we say Andrew Tate could never fight?,” Kevin Lee added.

Tate, who was cut over his right eye during the bout, took nothing away from his rival following the fight.

“Yeah…. 10 years out, 40 years old. I gave it my all, but he was tough. I do not know what to say, but he’s really, really tough. Congratulations to him,” he said.

“I am going to have to go back and watch the fight again… make a decision, but Chase deserves his win. I am really happy for him. It’s better to try and lose than to not try at all.”

In the co-main event, former UFC standout Tony Ferguson claimed the Misfits middleweight title with a win over Warren Spencer.

It was “El Cucuy’s” second outing under the Misfits banner after winning his debut in August, and he made it 2-0 by claiming a five-round unanimous decision.

“I love being an athlete and boxing’s another chance for me to go out and demonstrate to all you motherf***ers that it’s fun and go after your dream,” said Ferguson.

Ferguson, 41, dismissed calls for retirement after an eight-fight losing streak, instead looking to revive his fortunes in the boxing ring.

Spencer, meanwhile, embraced the moment despite the loss.

“I just wanted to say as well, regardless of the result, what I’m feeling right now standing in the ring with this legend, being able to go toe to toe with a kid I used to look up to and watch, that one day I could be as big and as strong as him,” he said.

“I’m already f***ing winning. I’m already a winner. I don’t care what any of you motherf***ers have to say.

“Who got up off the floor and carried on? I f***ing love you, Tony. You made my dreams come true, Misfits.”
