Brisbane has apologised to Essendon over the whiteboard controversy that overshadowed the clubs’ match on Saturday.
Lions coach Chris Fagan unloaded on the Auskick father that leaked a photo online of the Lions’ whiteboard that listed strengths and weaknesses of Essendon players.
It included some brutal character-based assessments such as ‘selfish’ and ‘low confidence’, and referenced ex-Lion Jaxon Prior’s girlfriend, with ‘Bronte’ listed as the defender’s only strength.

Herald Sun chief reporter Jay Clark has revealed that Brisbane CEO Sam Graham apologised to Bomber chief Tim Roberts in the aftermath.
“Brisbane has formally apologised,” Clark said on Fox Footy.
“I can tell you Lions CEO Sam Graham has spoken with his Essendon counterpart Tim Roberts just to smooth things over and express a little bit of remorse that this was made public.”
Clark added that the Lions are “absolutely furious” it leaked out.
“The players drew the list on the Essendon players’ strengths and weaknesses,” he continued.
“Then an Auskick dad who happened to be there for an Auskick clinic, snapped the photo through the window, put it on Facebook and it went viral from there.”
CALL FOR BLUES PRODIGY TO CONSIDER DRAFT BACKFLIP
A Tigers champion has declared Carlton father-son prodigy Cody Walker could yet backflip on his decision to join the Blues and instead nominate Richmond.
In what’s been a tough season for the 1-7 Blues as they suffered yet another fade-out against St Kilda, Walker is their ray of hope.
The 18-year old and potential No. 1 pick in the 2026 draft picked up 26 disposals in a brilliant VFL debut for the Blues on Saturday.
Walker officially committed to Carlton last year as a father-son selection, despite also being eligible for Richmond through its Next Generation Academy.

Though triple-premiership Tiger Jack Riewoldt has questioned whether Walker could be second guessing that decision.
“He’s got two avenues now, it’s a very big decision for Cody Walker,” Riewoldt said on Fox Footy.
“He was looking today and sees Richmond go and have a 10-point win away from home (against West Coast) with maybe three fit players that weren’t playing AFL.
“Then he sees this tonight (Carlton’s loss to St Kilda).
“I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s conversations happening behind the scenes for Richmond, who’s going to finish very low on the ladder, to maybe throw their hat back in the Cody Walker ring.
“You would be looking at it tonight going: ‘Where is my next opportunity to win a premiership?’
“I think a lot of people would say, currently in Cody’s position, it would be Richmond.”
The AFL this week confirmed changes to the draft that will make it harder for clubs to match bids on father-son and academy players, with teams now needing to use a maximum of two picks.
