Ange Postecoglou just can’t stop making history.
The Aussie manager has etched his name into the record books once more after claiming a second straight Manager of the Month gong.

After winning it last month he became the first Australian to do so, but now he’s gone back-to-back after the Tottenham Hotspurs went unbeaten in September.
He becomes the first ever Premier League manager to win successive awards in the first two months of their tenure in England’s top league.
The last manager to achieve the double was Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp in 2019-20. In what is a good omen for the Aussie manager, Liverpool went on to win the title that season.
The Spurs played three games in September, comprehensively beating Burnley 5-2 before securing a 2-1 win over Sheffield United.
Their month came to an end with a 2-2 draw against fellow top of the table side Arsenal.
A third straight award could be on the cards for Postecoglou after his side got October off and running with two straight wins. A 2-1 win over Liverpool and a 1-0 against Luton Town.
The north Londoners’ superb start to Postecoglou’s first season in charge have awoken dreams of an unexpected title challenge.
While that may yet prove beyond Tottenham, the Australian has undoubtedly had a huge impact on a club that was in turmoil when he arrived from Celtic.
It is the best unbeaten start any Tottenham manager has ever made and, with fixtures against Fulham and Crystal Palace up next, they could extend their unbeaten start through the rest of October.
“The players want to change the destiny of this football club and that is what they are trying to do on the pitch,” Postecoglou said.
“It’s going alright, but we’re in October and still have a lot of work to do.”
The Aussie recently admitted he would have never made it to the Premier League in the first place had he continued on as the national team’s head coach.
Speaking to reporters ahead of Australia’s friendly against England on Wembley on Saturday, a reflective Postecoglou had a sobering reality check when touching on the Matildas’ recent World Cup success.
“It didn’t make an impact back there and that was kind of my frustration,” he told media, including The Telegraph UK, speaking on his 2015 AFC Asian Cup win in Australia.
“I don’t think that anything they can achieve… when you look at what the Matildas did at the World Cup, unbelievable but you still won’t see an influx of resources to the game. You won’t. I guarantee it.
“They’ll build stadiums and other codes will use them. I just don’t think the nation as a whole has that inside them to understand you can make an impact on the world of football but it requires a kind of nationalistic approach that I just don’t think Australians — at their core — are really interested in.”
