The Broncos have reportedly made it clear Kurt Capewell will not be handed a contract for the 2025 season, leaving him with a big decision to make.
The Courier Mail is reporting Broncos powerbrokers are happy to retain the veteran backrower’s services and honour his contract for the 2024 season.
However, with a huge amount of salary cap pressure with Ezra Mam, Adam Reynolds and Reece Walsh all needing to be re-signed, they reportedly can’t extend his deal.

That is despite reportedly viewing the premiership-winner as a vital cog in their potential charge for a title in 2024.
Now Capewell, who has been offered a three-year deal to sign with the Warriors immediately, has a big decision to make after a meeting with Andrew Webster.

The former Panther reportedly wants to go one better under Kevin Walters next season after his side came desperately close to lifting the trophy in 2023.
However, with no deal on the table for 2025, the Warriors’ offer provides job security and he is seriously considering a move across the Tasman.
If he was to depart Red Hill immediately, he would be afforded time to settle into his new surroundings before the season begins in March.
NORTH QUEENSLAND ADD ANOTHER FORWARD
The Cowboys have reportedly signed former Tigers and Titans forward Thomas Mikaele to a deal after a short stint in the UK Super League.
Mikaele had somewhat of a strange 2023. He joined Warrington in 2022 before being granted an immediate release in March of this year to sign with the Gold Coast Titans.
Mikaele would appear in one game for the Titans before returning to the Wolves in August to play out the rest of the season overseas.
The Daily Telegraph has reported that he has the agreed to terms with the Cowboys and will join North Queensland for the 2024 season.
“It’s been a weird year for me so far,” Mikaele said at the time of returning to Warrington mid-season for a second stint.
“There’s been some changes and obviously things haven’t gone the way they were planned for me since returning to the NRL.”
Mikaele played 25 games across two seasons for Warrington and has appeared in 67 NRL matches for the Tigers and Titans after making his debut in 2019.
