Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo has allayed any injury fears for captain Stephen Crichton after the star centre limped off the field during the 28-20 win over the Dragons.
Ciraldo told reporters that Crichton was dealing with cramp in several areas and that they decided to err on the side of caution and take him off.
Ciraldo credited how his team responded with their leader off the ground, in particular Jacob Preston who moved out to centre.

“He was cramping up. He was camping in his calves, glutes and groin I think,” Ciraldo said in his post-match press conference.
“He was doing his best but we were better off getting him off and sort of adjusting to it.
“It was another bit of adversity but we were good.”
Crichton is expected to be right to go for the Bulldogs’ Round 2 clash against the Titans next Sunday night.
With Crichton unavailable, Kurt Mann fronted the press conference alongside Ciraldo, sporting an impressive shiner on his left eye.

Mann explained he was “clipped” by Dragons winger Christian Tuipulotu when attempting to tackle him.
“End of the first half, I got clipped on the when they made a line break,” Mann said.
“It’s not as bad as it looks though.”
