Former AFL player and recruiter turned analyst Matt Rendell is in a critical condition in hospital after suffering a heart attack.
Seven reported Rendell collapsed while walking his dog over the weekend.
“He was found and is tonight critically unwell in hospital,” reporter Tom Browne said on Seven News.

“It’s a terribly difficult time for his close-knit family who are congregating around Rendell tonight.”
Rendell played 177 VFL/AFL games, almost all of them at Fitzroy, captaining the side for three seasons through the 1980s with two best-and-fairests and two All-Australian nods.
He then worked as an assistant coach and recruiter across the AFL system before resigning over comments made regarding the drafting of Indigenous players.
He has since become a regular analyst of AFL lists including appearances on Trade Radio.
